Leading edge and trailing edge

The leading edge is the forward stagnation region; the trailing edge is where upper and lower surfaces meet. Closure quality at the trailing edge matters before you trust Cd.

Chord, camber, and thickness

Chord is the straight reference from leading to trailing edge. Camber describes mean-line curvature; thickness is the distance between upper and lower surfaces. Together they set lift, pitching moment, and structural space.

Upper and lower surfaces

Pressure differences between upper and lower surfaces produce lift. In HFOIL, inspect both surfaces in the viewport before you believe a force coefficient.
