This slug references CFD mesh QA. HFOIL does not surface mesh quality or residuals — it supplies the geometry. Gate meshes in HENMESH and watch residuals in HENFLOW after exporting clean CAD from HFOIL.
HFOIL’s role
Shortlist sections, repair coordinates, inspect in the viewport, and export STEP/STL with documented provenance so CFD desks know which geometry entered the mesh.
Mesh quality signals (HENMESH)
Watch skewness, orthogonality, and near-wall spacing (y+). Poor cells near the leading edge or wake can distort Cp and force coefficients even if the plot looks smooth. Fail those cells in Quality / HEN-AI mesh quality before suite export.
Residuals as a stop light (HENFLOW)
Convergence histories tell you whether the solver settled. Flat, low residuals support a decision; oscillating or stalled residuals mean re-mesh in HENMESH, re-setup, or ask HENAI solver-control / mesh-suitability — then drop fidelity until the case is healthy.
Engineering takeaway
Always archive mesh stats and residual plots with the coefficients you present — but generate them in HENMESH/HENFLOW, not HFOIL.
How to act
Shortlist in HFOIL, gate/suite-export in HENMESH, solve in HENFLOW. Read mesh quality gates and import to residuals.
